Apple Looking Good

I couldn't wait any longer, I broke down today and purchased an Apple 12" iBook. Today was "tax free" day in Massachusetts so everyone waits for this day (yesterday and today) to make some big ticket purchases. It's not a huge savings since the sales tax is only 5%, but there are good deals if you look hard enough. By the time I got to the Apple store the iBooks were sold out, so I'm going to have to wait a week for home delivery. No big deal... I was able to take advantage of some back to school deals. I was able to get a 4 gig mini iPod and a HP DeskJet 5740 printer for free (after the rebates). I'll take it!

I'm going to keep a close eye on Apple (AAPL) on Monday, the chart looks great. Maybe the analyst are right for once, people are converting to the Apple. I just did!

I'm shopping for a new laptop too. Any reason why you picked a Mac over a PC?

Without a doubt Apple makes the best looking / user friendly computers. I wanted something that was small w/ a 12” screen. I considered the Dell Inspiron 700m, but after checking out the 12” iBook – I knew that was the one. If I had the extra $$, I would have gone for the Apple PowerBook. There wasn’t a big price difference between the Inspiron 700m and the iBook. So I decided to take the plunge. I’ll be using MS Office the majority of the time so swapping files between a Mac and PC will not be an issue. It’s been 8 years since I’ve used a Mac on a daily basis. I’m sure the adjustment will be easy, painless and fun. So was that a good excuse for getting a new toy?
