Some Cleco
Here we go again with more Cleco (Ticker: CNL) drama. The stock took a little dive today when The Alliance for Affordable Energy requested a rehearing for April 28th regarding the Cleco merger. I highly doubt this will reverse the Commission’s decision on the merger. It’s just a last ditch attempt to for this group to drum up some noise. I believe there is a very very high probability that this deal closes in April. I initiated a ~ 5.5% position in Cleco today at $54.88 (buy out price = $55.37).

Hi MT,
Are you still in QIHU? Do you have an expectation date for the deal to close By?
Also, what about DATE? Only a little under 1% profit remaining. Do you think this deal is fairly certain? When do you see it happening?
As always, we value and appreciate your analysis.
Yes, I'm still in QIHU and looking to close by the end of this month, April 29th.
I'm no longer in DATE. Everything seems to be progressing as planned. Company has guided for closing by the end of April.
Can I presume that since you are not in DATE that you are a little nervous about the deal not making it through? It is a ~ 1% return in under 3 weeks.
Regarding Date, there was not much info in regards to the loan financing so that's why I got out...
Medivation is getting interesting

Hi MT,
It is interesting how the market is pricing two of Chinese ADR's that are supposed to close by the end of the month. DATE is just 3 cents away from the buyout price, leaving a ~.4% return.
QIHU is trading at 75.6 leaving a ~ 1.8% return.
It seems the market is attributing more certainty, or a sooner closing to DATE than to QIHU. What do you think is the logic behind this?
Thanks
QIHU buyout is comprised of a large consortium of investors. Lots of moving parts to get to the finish line.
Hi
Got paid today for CNL. Excellent.
Thanks
Keep close eyes on MDVN
Aapltrader
Thanks. I initiated a position in MDVN yesterday (5% position).
MDVN is already priced much higher than when this takeover shatter began. Is it worth getting in at this price? When do you think an actual takeover will be announced?
MDVN - always a risk with pre deal plays. In terms of price talk, I've seen $50 to $70. Really depends if a competitive auction develops. When will the take over be announced? Wish I knew...
ALR down 12% news???
ALR down due to speculation that ABT may walk based on CEO's comments.
what about LEXMARK deal? do you think it will be a safe deal? nice yeld there!
From my initial look at LEXMARK, it does look interesting. I think it's safe even though you have Chinese buyers. There's going to be the China spread, which will make it an attractive ran play. Not in it yet, but may be in soon...
if we could do in full 100% IM and LXK the 2016 performance is done. To know the future...... IM and LXM the best yelds.
IM 11.5% yeld, ideas?
IM does look appealing. Will try to do some more work on it and may initiate a position.
TFM check what they did in 2 minutes million shares from 28.50 to 28.03 then back to 28.49!!!! can you find the reason for that??
TFM: No idea... Looks like the usual pre-closing jitters.
MDVN Sonofi gets it done around 60. I doubt they drag it like GENZ
Aapltrader
MDVN: As long as there are other interested acquirers, I agree that this should be resolved rather quickly compared to the acquisition of Genzyme.
but if they refuse and they don't offer 60? the offer seem very low, like provacatory that will kill the deal. what about DWA deal?
It looks like several big players sniffing around for MDVN. From what I've seen recently, MDVN is looking for $65+ for them to start serious talks. We'll see...
With SNY going to shareholders, MDVN might get the deal done faster to highest bidder
Aapltrader
MDVN not talking to SNY. SNY went public with hopes of nudging MDVN into talks. We all know the low ball offer by Sanofi will not be accepted by shareholders and will need to bump up the price.
