A Little Update
I am still kicking around, just a bit busy these days to post. My portfolio is pretty much tracking the S&P 500 with a YTD return of 13.86%. I can thank Visa for making a nice come back and Apple performing well. I’m still selling the 0 DTE options on the SPY and QQQ for income.
I picked up a few shares of SpaceX at the IPO price of $135
and am still waiting for the lock-up expiration for additional shares to be distributed.
Those shares (cost basis ~ $15) are under the extended lock-up, so I have to wait
until the end of next year before I receive them. I plan to hold all the SpaceX
shares for the long term.
I have not played the AI game and have been left out of the rally.
I still have memories of the dot com crash in which you had the internet and
networking stocks go to the stratosphere. Companies like JDS Uniphase, eventually
came crashing down. And yes, I was caught up in the dot com bubble as I bought
JDS Uniphase near the peak and sold near the bottom.
At this stage in my life, playing a bit conservative is
important. Other than SpaceX, I’m in stable growing dividend paying companies.
I see Apple, Visa and Mastercard to continue to compound over the long term. I’ll
be content with an ~ 10% annual return.
That's it for now. I will try to post more frequently and keep this blog alive...
